Once upon a time, in a magical land far, far away there existed the kingdom of Kerlow. It has been said that Kerlow was created by Fionalinn, goddess mother of The Dagda, with the aid of an enchanted emerald. At the time of Kerlow's creation, a prophecy was also born--it tells of a warrior, a champion of the people, an enemy of evil: the one called Shamrock. The kingdom of Kerlow is under the watchful eye of the highly respected and popular King Tuathal O’Shea and his Queen, Riona. King Tuathal's friend, confidant, and first in command of his army is a good man named Brion. King Tuathal's former ally, Lorcan, has turned his back on the royal court and seeks to gain control of the entire kingdom of Kerlow for himself. Once a good man and friend of King Tuathal, Lorcan has been seduced by diabolism and devilry and is now a disciple of black magic. He knows, however, that there is one person who stands in his way to control Kerlow, the one the prophecy speaks of. Lorcan believes this person to be King Tuathal and Queen Riona's newborn baby girl, Princess Erin O'Shea.
